ジャマイカ古民家移築プロジェクト
2023年4月に問い合せをいただき、
2023年11月には、ジャマイカ古民家移築事業の現地側の責任者・大工の
ナサニエルとトムが来日。
日本の伝統工法のミーティングと
解体現場で、再築時のミーティングを行いました。
We received an inquiry in April 2023,
In November 2023, Nathaniel and Tom, who are responsible for the Jamaican side of the relocation to Jamaica, visited Japan.
We held a meeting on traditional Japanese construction methods and a meeting at the site of the demolition to discuss the reconstruction.
空き家になって数十年たった古民家、未だ状態は素晴らしく
数百年前の大工の技術は、
解体時に、頭を悩ませるほど
しっかりと組み上げられていました。
Decades after being vacant, the old house is still in excellent condition.
The carpentry skills of hundreds of years ago are amazing.
The house was assembled so tightly that it was a headache to dismantle it.
2024年5月（先日）、
愛知県名古屋港から、多くの課題を乗り越えバンニングされ出港
2024年6月中旬にジャマイカ・キングストン港に到着しデバンニングされる予定です。
米国西海岸の港への輸出時の税関での問題点は、今までの経験値の中である程度解消されていますが、
ジャマイカへの輸出税関時の問題点は、
米国とはまた違うものでありました。
しかしそんなことよりも、
古材がカリブ海を渡り、
初めてジャマイカに届く、
そして、現地のジャマイカの方々が古民家を活用する。
しかも、その材料は日本で解体されゴミになる直前で
このプロジェクトの為に多くの人の想いを乗せて届けられた古材。
ロマンで溢れている。
完成まで我々の協力体制は、もちろん続く。
きっと素晴らしい建物として完成し、
これからの100年、
ジャマイカで建ち続けることでしょう。

The ship will be vanished from the Port of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, after overcoming many challenges.
It is scheduled to arrive at the port of Kingston, Jamaica in mid-June 2024 for debanning.
The problems encountered by customs when exporting to U.S. West Coast ports have been resolved to some extent in our experience to date,

But that is not the point,
Old timber crosses the Caribbean Sea and arrives in Jamaica for the first time,

The local Jamaican people will be able to use the old houses.
Moreover, the materials were right before they were dismantled and trashed in Japan.
The old materials were delivered to Jamaica with the thoughts and feelings of many people for this project.
It is full of romance.
Our cooperation will continue until the building is completed.
It will surely be completed as a wonderful building,
It will continue to stand in Jamaica for the next 100 years,
